About Us

Miss Ida's opened in the fall of 1998. Miss Ida was an outgoing person who loved to be with people. She had spent many years caring for her husband before he passed. Having worked in the public for many years we wanted to create a place for her to work and be with people. So Miss Ida's Tea Room was born. Miss Ida's is merely a small cafe that features homemade and semihomemade southern comfort food. To us Miss Ida was so glamourous that cafe was not good enough... so Miss Ida's Tea Room. Through the past 18 years Miss Ida's has become well known for their bread pudding and chicken salad. We have employeed 4 trained chefs but we here at Miss Ida's have discovered that our local clientel prefer home cooking, so all of our food is prepared by local cooks, including the owner. Miss Ida passed away in 2011 and to honor her memory Jim and Linda are honored to keep it going in a way that would make her proud.
